Her current areas of research include:
Knee pain and progression associated with osteoarthritis
Giant Cell Arteritis / Polymyalgia Rheumatica – patient directed disease outcomes and treatments
Psoriatic arthritis – patient directed disease outcomes and treatments

I am currently a clinical trial co-ordinator with expertise in trial design, protocol development, ethics submission, coordination, recruitment, and analysis. She has awarded a NHMRC-NIHR Collaborative Research Grant to set up the Australian arm of a multi centre international clinical trial into PMR. She is currently co-ordinator of two NHMRC funded randomized clinical trials of osteoarthritis (1127981, 1147370), and has coordinated three previous NHMRC funded randomized control trials (1102732, 1045415, 1048581). She is also Chief Investigator of a recently completed RCT of colchicine in hand OA; and is Chief Investigator of an on-going trial of dietary oils in osteoarthritis; each with Arthritis SA funding. Each of these trials has met recruitment targets. She has also managed multiple sponsor-led clinical trials. In addition, Dr Ruediger is co-ordinator of the SA node of the Australian Arthritis and Autoimmune Biobank Collaborative (A3BC) and the SA Giant Cell Arteritis Registry. She currently sits on the CALHN Research Ethics Committee, and contributed to the OMERACT Glucocorticoid Working Group in 2020. She has also had the opportunity to work with Arthritis SA to learn new skills in qualitative research and interviewing. Dr Ruediger has 22 co-author publications and a five first author publication. Despite a change of research direction in late 2014, and two career disruptions, she has already published 13 papers in Rheumatology, as well as presented abstracts at the ARA Annual Scientific Meeting in 2016-18 and in 2019 and was awarded a travel grant for presentations at the 2018 ARA ASM.
