I’m a PhD student investigating oxalates in duckweeds and water spinach. My work explores how this compound accumulates, and how we can use genetic manipulation techniques to reduce them in edible plants.
I am driven by curiosity, problem-solving and building community. I help run a social club on campus to help bring people together, share ideas and improve the student experience.
My research investigates oxalates in Lemnaceae and Ipomoea aquatica, exploring how this compound accumulates, and how genetic manipulation techniques can be used to reduce their accumulation in edible plants.
My research involves the use of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), polarized light microscopy, agrobacterium mediated transformation, tissue culture, RNA extraction and bioinformatic techniques.
