Britt Burton is a third year PhD candidate with the Alliance for Research in Exercise, Nutrition and Activity (ARENA) Research Centre, School of Allied Health and Human Performance, College of Health, Adelaide University.
She completed a Bachelor of Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience (Honours) in 2023 at the University of South Australia. Growing up in rural South Australia, her PhD thesis focuses on dementia prevention — specifically working with rural, regional and remote communities to develop and implement strategies that reduce dementia risk and help people to age better in place.
In 2024 Britt was awarded the University of South Australia's Vice Chancellor and President’s Scholarship for PhD candidates who exhibit research excellence, and whose research includes a focus on industry and partner engagement with evidence of genuine end-user relationships. Britt has presented her work at national and international conferences including the Alzheimer's Association International Conference (2025) and at the upcoming 2026 International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics World Congress.
Her other research interests include rural health, the long-term repercussions of traumatic and acquired brain injury, the management of Parkinson's disease, the neuroscience of built and urban environments, linguistics, historical archaeology, museums, and heritage management.
