Dr Bopelo Boitshwarelo, SFHEA, is an academic development specialist with more than 27 years of experience in higher education across Australia and internationally. His work focuses on curriculum design, online and blended learning, academic development, professional learning, and quality enhancement.
A Senior Fellow of Advance HE, Bopelo has contributed to sector-wide teaching and learning initiatives, including the South Australia and Northern Territory Peer Excellence Network (SANTPEN), and has served as an assessor for the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) since 2018.
His scholarship examines academic development, online learning, learning design and assessment. He has published journal articles, conference papers and book chapters, with recent research exploring the pedagogical use of online quizzes, as well as academic development practice in higher education.
Bopelo also contributes to the scholarly community through peer review activities for leading higher education journals, including Studies in Higher Education, the International Review of Research in Open and Distributed Learning (IRRODL), and the International Journal for Academic Development.
