Bolaji S. Aregbeshola, PhD, is a public health researcher and behavioural scientist in the School of Public Health at Adelaide University. He received a PhD in Public Health & Behavioural Sciences from the University of Newcastle in 2025 after completing a doctoral thesis titled “Influence of Vocational Training and Workplace Environment on Tobacco Use, Alcohol Consumption, and Concurrent Use.”
Dr. Aregbeshola conducts research to identify causes and consequences of public health issues and works to design, implement, and evaluate effective and cost-effective interventions and policies targeting the complex interplay of factors as well as health risk behaviours for chronic diseases among priority populations. His research focuses on health behaviour, tobacco control, alcohol control, chronic disease prevention, infectious disease control and prevention, health policy, health care financing, health insurance, health systems, health economics, health management, access to care, quality of health care, maternal and child health, impact evaluation, program and policy evaluation, economic evaluation, mixed methods, randomised controlled trials, and evidence synthesis, including systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and meta-analyses.
Dr. Aregbeshola was a University of Newcastle PhD scholar. He is affiliated with the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) in Newcastle, New South Wales, and the Health Econometrics and Data Group (HEDG) at the University of York, United Kingdom. He is currently serving on the editorial board of World Medical & Health Policy. His work has been published in the European Journal of Health Economics, PharmacoEconomics, the International Journal of Health Policy and Management, World Medical & Health Policy, Frontiers in Public Health, Frontiers in Health Services, the Journal of Public Health, Ageing International, and the American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, among others.
