I have received three degrees in three fields (BSc in chemistry, MSc in environmental science and technology, and PhD in biochemical and environmental engineering) from three countries (China, The Netherlands and Australia, respectively). I serviced universities, research institutes and governments as an academic, researcher and engineer across Australia and China. My research has focused on the development of integrated bio-nanotechnological systems and processes for production of renewable energy and recycling water from waste streams. I have contributed over 200 research publications with h-index of 50 and over 11580 citations in the fields of chemical and bioprocess engineering, industrial biotechnology, wastewater treatment and applied microbiology. Six of my journal papers have been ranked as the highest cited papers in world leading journals of Water Research and Chemical Engineering Journal.
