My research lies at the intersection of Social and Clinical Psychology. Broadly, I am interested in the role that people's psychological needs may play in processes of justice repair and recovery. My research is typically quantitative, experimental, and theory driven.
1) Social Psychology of Justice Repair. One of my primary research interests is in how to address the psychological needs of victims, offenders, and their relationships, that arise after interpersonal conflict. I explore topics such as relationship growth, forgiveness, self-forgiveness, unforgiveness, and psychological closure.
2) Social Factors involved in Recovery from Addictive Behaviours. Another primary research interest of mine relates to addictive behaviours, and in this space, I apply social psychological theory to understand the psychological needs and identity processes that influence recovery.
