Benjamin Lam is an applied biostatistician working within Education Futures. Primarily supporting research of inequalities in child development within lower and middle income countries, Ben is most interested in applied techniques of causal inference and target trial emulation to reuse existing datasets to its maximum value.
Ben also manages a data linkage project funded by Australian Research Data Commons to leverage existing datasets within government jurisdictions for researcher access. Leveraging WEC will link longitudinal student wellbeing data with school outcomes and census information between South Australia, Tasmania, and the ACT.
Ben completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of International Studies, Diploma of Languages (Japanese), along with a Master of Biostatistics at the University of Adelaide. Outside of statistics he is interested in research translation through policy and cultural impact.
