Do you remember when people used to take photos of their dinner, get them developed and then mail them to all their friends for comment? Neither do I.
My research focuses on how digital technologies shape what people do from a primary health care perspective. Right now I use a combination of theoretical and sociological methods to understand how children’s play is changing amidst new technologies and the associated concerns of parents, health services and policy makers.
I teach into the primary health care and occupational science streams of the Occupational Therapy Program.
Reengagingyouth in learning and work through filmmaking:A collaborative investigation
This project will investigate the impact of an innovative transdisciplinary approach for reconnecting disadvantaged youth with learning and work.It will generate evidence about the potential of participation in the creative industries, given that disengaged young people have indicated adesire for increased arts and cultural experiences (Playford Youth Engagement Report, 2016).
Representations of Resilience: A comparative analysis of child development and sustainable development policy
This collaboration with InterPART we are examining the way resilience is represdented in policies that focus on sustainability in future generations acrosss ectors. Our aim is to support future policy and practice with more coherent and mutually complementary approaches.
Mapping the Undergraduate Occupational Therapy Program Against the Australian Minimum Comptency Standards.
As part of ongoing quality improvement in the Occupational Therapy program, this project is examining the extent to which the undergrdaute course objectives support students to meet the minimum competency standards for new graduates by completion of their studies.
