Miss Bella Mickan

Bella is a PhD candidate at the Adelaide Law School. Her research explores victim-survivors’ satisfaction within Australian legal responses to sexual violence, focusing on how their experiences can inform reforms that enhance victim-centred practices and engagement within the justice system.
Bella is also an Associate Teacher at the University of Adelaide and works as a Research Assistant at both the University and the South Australian Law Reform Institute. Bella also serves as the Higher Degree by Research Representative for the Law School.
She holds an Honours Degree of Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Adelaide. She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia in 2023.
Prior to commencing her PhD in 2025, Bella practised as a solicitor at the Crown Solicitor’s Office in the Civil Litigation Section.
