Bec Medhurst is an Online Course Facilitator for the Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UniSA Online. In this role, she develops and delivers engaging online teaching content while collaborating closely with divisional staff to provide a positive and supportive learning experience for undergraduate students. She also coordinates and supports casual academic staff in their teaching activities.
Bec brings valuable experience from both industry and academia, having worked as a lecturer, developer, and coordinator of criminal justice programs for both online and face-to-face learners. Her teaching practice spans diverse settings, including community, corporate, judicial, and policing environments, all grounded in her industry background in policing.
She holds bachelor's degrees in adult education and management, and a first-class honours degree in criminology. Bec is also a PhD candidate at the University of Adelaide, researching factors related to the sentencing of people convicted of online child sexual abuse material offences.
