Bec Medhurst is an Online Course Facilitator for the Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (100% online) at Adelaide University. She develops and delivers fully online courses, and is committed to supporting student success in online learning environments, fostering critical thinking and helping students apply legal and criminological concepts to real-world contexts. She also coordinates and supports casual academic staff in their teaching activities.
A former police officer, Bec brings experience from both industry and academia, having worked as a lecturer, developer, and coordinator of criminal justice programs for both online and face-to-face students. Her teaching practice spans diverse settings, including community, corporate, judicial, and policing environments.
She holds bachelor's degrees in adult education and management, and a first-class honours degree in criminology. Bec is also a PhD candidate at the University of Adelaide, researching sentencing practices for individuals convicted of online child sexual abuse material (CSAM) offences.
