With a background in biomedical engineering and masters in the field of orthopaedic biomechanics (the application of mechanics to understand biological phenomena of bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments), Arj has strong interests in musculoskeletal pathology, orthopaedic medical devices and implants, rehabilitation, innovation and implementing medical technology to optimize healthcare delivery.

Currently undertaking a PhD in orthopaedics and trauma, Arj’s research involves working with the Centre for Orthopaedic and Trauma Research and Department of Orthopaedics and Trauma at the Royal Adelaide Hospital to investigate whether differences in lower limb biomechanics and function exist between the surgical management of hip fractures using different types of orthopaedic implants.
