With a background in biomedical engineering and masters in the field of orthopaedic biomechanics (the application of mechanics to understand biological phenomena of bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments), Arj has strong interests in musculoskeletal pathology, medical devices and implants, rehabilitation, innovation and implementing medical technology to optimize healthcare delivery.
Currently undertaking a PhD in orthopaedics and trauma, Arj’s research involves working with the Department of Orthopaedics and Trauma at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Centre for Orthopaedic and Trauma Research to investigate whether differences in lower limb biomechanics and function exist between the surgical management of hip fractures using different types of orthopaedic implants.
