Anoja Kawsihan (Past name: Anoja Senthilnathan) is currently engaged in research focused on Electrochemical CO2 reduction for multi-carbon products, under the supervision of Professor Zaiping Guo and Dr. Jinshuo Zou. Her academic journey began with a B.Sc. (Special) degree in Mineral Resources and Technology from Uva Welassa University, Sri Lanka, followed by the successful completion of an MPhil in Nano and Advanced Technology in 2021 at the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology, Homagama, Sri Lanka.
During her undergraduate studies, Anoja Kawsihan conducted research on the Microbial Aided Leaching of Iron Contaminant from Eppawala Apatite to Produce an Effective Phosphate Fertilizer. She further expanded her academic horizons by undertaking an internship at the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology, engaging in diverse projects such as the Precursor Mediated One-pot Synthesis of Nanosilver Rainbow and the Preparation of Iron yttrium oxide nanoparticles as a value addition to garnet sand.
For her Master's degree, she focused on Nanomaterials from Sri Lankan Mica Minerals: Synthesis, Characterization, Properties, and Applications. During this period, she successfully synthesized advanced materials utilizing Muscovite Mica minerals, enhancing their properties for potential industrial applications. Her expertise also extends to a project investigating the production of titanium from titanium oxides through magnesium vapor reduction.
Throughout her academic and research endeavors, she has demonstrated proficiency in utilizing analytical instruments such as SEM, FT-IR, XRD, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, and TGA. Her comprehensive background and contributions underscore her commitment to advancing knowledge in the field of materials science and technology.
