Andrew Stempel (he/him) is a cave explorer and early-career taxonomist studying subterranean biodiversity of the Nullarbor Plain. His PhD research focuses on documenting new species of cave-adapted invertebrates, particularly large eyeless spiders in the genera Tartarus and Troglodiplura. His work combines field exploration with morphological and molecular taxonomy to improve understanding of the diversity, evolution, and conservation of Australia’s subterranean fauna.
