I graduated from the University of Adelaide with the degree of Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology) in 2021. While I majored in Biotechnology, I found myself much more interested in Biochemistry, in particular cell metabolism. I joined Professor Lisa Butler’s lab as an Honours student in 2022, working on uncovering the role of fatty acid oxidation in an organelle called the “peroxisome” in advanced, treatment-resistant prostate cancer. I commenced my PhD candidature in March 2023 continuing my research with Prof. Lisa Butler. The focus of my PhD project is to investigate how sphingolipids are affecting prostate cancer progression and metastasis.
