Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology

I obtained my PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Adelaide in 2025, working under Prof. Shi-Zhang Qiao and Dr. Jingrun Ran, and I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher (0.5 FTE) at the University of Adelaide. My research focuses on developing advanced single-atom photocatalysts and 2D materials for renewable energy production and plastic upcycling, with a strong emphasis on engineering charge carrier pathways to enhance photocatalytic efficiency.

I have authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, 2 books, 1 book chapter, 1 patent, and a magazine publication, with my work presented at international conferences. My research has attracted more than 2,800 citations (h-index: 24), and I have completed more than 200 reviews for various prestigious international journals. I was the recipient of the Global Peer Review Award (Publons, 2019; Top 1% of reviewers cross-field) and have received multiple certificates for highly cited and widely downloaded papers (Elsevier, Applied Energy).

I have served on the HDR Committee at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide (Administration 2022–2023; Vice President 2024). My contributions have been supported by the Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship (2021–2025).

Since 2022, I have contributed to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the University of Adelaide as a Tutor and Lecturer across multiple courses:

  • Programming (Matlab/Excel) – ENG 1003: Tutor (2022-S2 to 2025-S1)
  • Materials I – 1009/1009UAC: Lecturer/Tutor (2023-S2 & 2025-S2)
  • Materials Science & Engineering – 3029/7055: Tutor (2024-S1 & 2025-S1)
  • Food Engineering – 2073/7073: Tutor (2025-S2)
