I am a PhD candidate in the School of Psychology. My research explores how we process human faces and make decisions in identity verification contexts.
Identity verification occurs in many different settings, such as when travelling internationally, or when simply purchasing age restricted products at the supermarket. To complete this task, the observer must decide whether the two faces presented before them are from the same person (matched), or two different people (mismatched). This task can be surprisingly difficult, and some people tend to be better at this task than others! My research seeks to explore individual differences in how humans decide to accept the faces as a match or mismatch pair.
I am conducting research under the supervision of Dr Daniel Carragher and Dr Nicole Nelson.
