Senior Lecturer, Nutrition

School of Allied Health and Human Performance

College of Health

Hello! Welcome to my home page. I am a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition in UniSA Clinical & Health Sciences. I have interests in both physical activity and nutrition, having completed a bachelor’s degree in Human Movement (with Honours) and a Masters of Dietetics (I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian).
I completed my PhD at the University of Adelaide; my research investigated the combined effects of omega-3 fatty acids and aerobic exercise on cardiovascular risk factors. Following that I commenced a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the USA at the Pennsylvania State University, where I conducted numerous controlled clinical interventions primarily in the area of cardiovascular nutrition.
Since returning to Australia in 2011 I have been an active member of the Alliance for Research in Exercise, Nutrition and Activity (ARENA). My research explores the benefits of dietary patterns, foods and bioactives on athletic performance, and cardiovascular, cognitive and respiratory health.
I am passionate about nutrition science and am Co-Chair of the Adelaide Committee for the Nutrition Society of Australia (NSA). I have also served on the Registration Committee for the NSA Registered Nutritionist Scheme, which aims to recognise and encourage high standards of professional training in nutrition.
