School of Public Health
College of Health
I am a trained medical professional with a strong background in clinical pathology, medical quality management, and public health. My primary research interest lies in exploring sexual and reproductive health (SRH) among refugee and migrant populations through a consumer-driven prioritization approach. My research aims to address unmet health needs by employing robust evidence synthesis methods, including appropriate systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and meta-analyses. Ultimately, my research is designed to inform the co-production of policy frameworks supporting governments and policymakers in making evidence-informed decisions to enhance equity and cultural responsiveness in healthcare delivery.
Previously, I have worked extensively in the domain of medical quality and safety management, focusing on the application of Quality Control (QC), Quality Improvement (QI), Six Sigma, and the role of accreditation bodies in enhancing the effectiveness of clinical laboratories. I am particularly interested in managing and improving healthcare quality and am trained in using various quality assessment tools, including the QI-MQCS scale.
Additionally, I have experience as a trained oncology researcher in a molecular pathology laboratory, where my research aim was to investigate the carcinogenic potential of various pharmaceutical agents using Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. My work involved advanced research methodologies such as PCR, histopathology, ELISA, PAGE, microarray analysis, and the application of complex statistical methods. I do have experience with experimental procedures, including dissection, organ harvesting, dosing, sample collection, and tissue preservation for histopathological and biochemical analysis, all conducted per established ethical and laboratory standards.
