Postdoctoral Researcher

School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences

Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology

Ahmad is a geochronologist specialising in the spatial-temporal development of ore systems. He holds a Ph.D. from The University of Adelaide (2022) focused on in-situ Rb-Sr dating via LA-ICP-MS/MS for Cu-Au mineralization in the Arabian Shield.

Dr. Redaa began his career as a Demonstrator (Teaching Assistant) at King Abdulaziz University in 2009, progressing to Lecturer in 2015 and Assistant Professor in 2022. His on-going research employs statistical programming and analytical techniques such as LA-ICP-MS(/MS), EPMA, and SEM.

Dr.Redaa's research interests focus on the application of in-situ Rb-Sr dating techniques using LA-ICP-MS/MS for determining mineral ages. He contributes to the field through his work on testing and developing reference materials specifically designed for in-situ Rb-Sr dating. Additionally, he conducts investigations into the timing of tectono-thermal events in the Arabian Shield, employing in-situ Rb-Sr and U-Pb dating methods. These research can enhance our understanding of the geological history and tectonic evolution of the Arabian Shield.
