Dr Adam Loch is an Associate Professor and former ARC DECRA Fellow at the University of Adelaide. Prior to moving to South Australia Adam spent 10 years on his family's farm in Queensland and currently researches topics such as risk and ambiguity, irrigator decision-making, water markets and institutional reform, transaction costs, and reallocation policy/program effectiveness.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from Bond University, a Master of Marketing (M.Mkt) from Griffith University, a Master of Business (M.Bus) from Central Queensland University and a Ph.D from UniSA. He has held and led several large-scale projects both in Australia and overseas which have focused on farming systems, public policy advice and strategic planning, economic analysis, and institutional reform. These projects have required a wide range of analytical techniques including survey design and delivery, econometric analysis tools, modeling assessments, transaction cost accounting, the design and conduct of interviews and focus groups, and scenario and fore-sighting analysis. Adam’s research networks include economic and policy specialists in Spain, Italy, and the UK, engineering, allocation, and hydrology researchers in the US and Chile, and sustainable agriculture and technology public policy experts in South Asia.
