Dr A B M Nasiruzzaman
Lecturer
School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
College of Engineering and Information Technology
I am a dedicated academic with over 15 years of experience in electrical and electronic engineering education and research, spanning Australia, Singapore, and Bangladesh. My teaching philosophy emphasizes student empowerment, active learning, and confidence-building through project-based learning, formative feedback, and technology-enhanced engagement.
Currently a Lecturer at the University of South Australia (UniSA), I have designed and delivered a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, leading successful curriculum transformations that significantly improved student engagement and evaluations. My earlier roles include academic appointments at Central Queensland University (CQU), The University of New South Wales (UNSW), and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where I consistently applied innovative, student-centered teaching methods and electrical power system research.
As a researcher, I have contributed to critical power system resilience projects, including bushfire mitigation in Victoria and energy infrastructure vulnerability assessments in Singapore. I hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from UNSW and have published over 40 scholarly articles in top-tier journals and conferences. Recognized with numerous academic awards and scholarships, I am an active member of several professional ongaisations.
