Dr Shadi Shayan is a Lecturer in Project Management with more than 13 years of industry experience delivering global projects. She holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Project Management, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. She brings a practice-informed approach to teaching across key project management areas including project planning and control, risk management, procurement and contracts, stakeholder engagement, and project governance. Her teaching emphasises authentic learning, industry relevance, and the development of students’ applied capability and professional judgement.
 
Her research focuses on integrated project risk management, alongside broader project management topics that influence project delivery and organisational outcomes. She is interested in how projects navigate uncertainty, complexity, and stakeholder demands, and how project practices and decision-making can be strengthened to improve performance. Her work aims to produce practical insights that support more effective project delivery and capability development.
