Dr Lucy Andrew
Online Course Facilitator
Adelaide University Online and Learning Futures
Academic
I have a background in health science, television production and online education. I completed my PhD at UniSA, where I created an online education program for people with type 2 diabetes. I teach health science courses for public and community health and nutrition and exercise programs at Adelaide University Online and was involved in the development and delivery of an introductory course, Critical Approaches to Online Learning. My current research focuses on attitudes towards using AI-generated digital lecturers and interactive agents in higher education. As well as teaching at university, I have worked as a research assistant, television reporter, and tour guide.
I am a full-time teaching academic with a passion for creating and delivering health-related courses online. I have previously worked as a Questacon Science Circus performer, a journalist for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Science Unit and as a children’s television presenter. Current research projects include (1) investigating the attitudes of staff to using AI generated videos and interactive teaching agents with an aim to develop guidelines for use in higher education and (2) investigating learning performance and student experience when using generative AI to deliver lectures in native languages for non-native English-speaking students.
