Associate Professor Jodie George is the Dean Academic in the College of Creative Arts, Design and Humanities at Adelaide University. She provides strategic academic leadership across the College, guiding the quality, coherence, and innovation of its teaching and learning portfolio. In this role, she oversees academic governance, curriculum excellence, and policy alignment, ensuring programs remain responsive to disciplinary developments, industry expectations, and the evolving needs of students and society.
Holding a PhD from the University of South Australia, Jodie’s research is situated in cultural geography, with a particular focus on the construction of place, identity, and events in rural contexts. She has published widely in books, journals, and conference proceedings on topics including regional festivals, rural communities, and the cultural value of tourism. Her research has been supported through competitive grants and recognised through professional associations.
As an active member of the academic community, Jodie has contributed as a reviewer and as a member of several professional associations, including the Association for Canadian Studies in Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Association of Writing Programs, and the Institute of Australian Geographers.
