I'm thrilled to announce that I have been made a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. This recognises my work but it would not have been possible without the incredible opportunities and supports from others at UniSA. Whilst I've worked with so many outstanding people passionate about delivering quality education and research, there are a few I would like to thank in particular.
I am indebted to the support of my colleagues  in law Sue Milne and Matthew Atkinson and also in research leadership Distinguished Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington AO, Dale Walshe, the TIU unit Assoc Prof Sheridan Gentilli, and the team who delivered the Graduate Certificate in Education ( online learning ). This was truly a life changing experience . Of all the academics I must single out Assoc Professor Srecko Joksimovic whose course and our subsequent joint article set me on a path of working on reflection in legal education. I have since collaborated with Prof Michele Leering from Queens in Canada and will be co presenting at Monash in November.
A huge thank you to allies and friends Dr Trish Powers and Dr Brooke Osborne  for their wonderful support and instruction.
Over this past five years I have presented to Teaching workshops at UniSA thank you Dr Cate Hudson and to law colleagues all over Australia at ALAA and the feedback has been encouraging . Thank you Prof Amanda Kennedy from QUT and Prof Melissa Casten from Monash. I have also presented at IUCN Academy of Environmental Law symposia thank you to Prof Daya-Winterbottom of Waikato.
I am also thankful to over 1000 environmental law students and 200 international law and environmental justice students for their reflections on the law . The skills learnt make for a very positive future with fine sound advocates. The new Colombo plan scheme part funded the environmental law and justice  study tour to Fiji. The reflections from the 20 students were inspiring . I am grateful to UniFiji VC Prof Shaista Shameen for continued support and the opportunity to work with law researchers and teach into courses in Fiji.
Last but not least ,is Assoc Prof David Birbeck a real ,honest and kind person who taught me so much in several meetings over the last years. Look forward to the future at Adelaide University in both teaching and research.

More detail of the  7th Frontiers in Environmental Law colloquium IUCN
In February 2021, UniSA  hosted the 7th Frontiers in Environmental Law colloquium. see https://www.unisa.edu.au/Calendar/7th-frontiers-in-environmental-law-colloquium/
This event had 6 rapportuers in  20 sessions with over 40 speakers and 30 other guests and discussions were lively.
The first plenary on the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary was were supported by the Department for Environment and Water. Jason Irving, Manager National Parks and Protected Areas Program made a presentation on the local issues surrounding this relatively new sanctuary for migratory and resident shorebirds. There are some contentious local issues with brine pollution killing mangroves in the Sanctuary and this provided environmental law in action perspective to the event. The CEO from East
Asian- Australasian Flyway treaty body https://www.eaaflyway.net/ based in Korea also presented on the treaty actions.
Hence, we had a span of interest from local to international. Discussants for this session included  a local Greens member of parliament Mark Parnell and Craig  Wilkins from the local Conservation Council of SA. This was a wonderful session bridging the local and state and international aspects of migratory birds and coastal land management.
The second plenary on climate conscious lawyering was presented by Justice Preston of the NSW Land and Environmental Court.  This paper was inspiring for all in the room. The Environmental Defenders office through Rachael Walmsley NSW also contributed a thought provoking paper on the proposed amendments to the EPBC Act.
