Annabel is a registered nurse / midwife academic working within UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences Academic Unit at the City East Campus. Annabel completed a Masters in Primary Health Care Degree in 2008 and holds other post graduate certificates. Annabel’s nursing and midwifery practice spans from local to national levels includes diverse range of roles and settings such as, clinical (acute and community), rural and regional, management, health promotion, primary health care, mental health and most recently has been working within the workforce development and education fields.
She applies an inquiry-based learning framework which fosters student engagement by stimulating curiosity, igniting self-directed learning and finding the right teaching balance that values and appreciates student, staff and industry partner’s experiences in learning and authentic assessment design. In addition to her academic role, she enjoys working as a primary health care and health promotion mentor.
Annabel is a member of the UniSA Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Research and Education Group.
