In his architectural practice, teaching and research Dr Robert Doe has pursued methods and examined technologies that improve interaction between participants engaged in the design and production of buildings. In practice he has led integrated project teams on complex urban residential projects, and has also co-directed a company which manufactured prefabricated components and modules. In teaching and research, he has focussed on computational design methods which improve building lifecycles, from conceptual to design development to the operational stages. He firmly believes that new thinking is required to resolve seemingly intractable management and technological issues which challenge the design and making of smart buildings in the AECO sector.
