Rosie Roberts is a Senior Lecturer in Cultural Studies at the University of South Australia. Rosie has undertaken research in areas including regional festivals and place-based identity; grassroots music venues and the contemporary music eco-system (with an emphasis on regional areas); mid-career transformations and intersections of ageing and gender for women in contemporary music; cultural organisations, funding insecurity and the ‘diversification’ of the arts; arts-based approaches for working with new arrival communities; and experiences of work, home and belonging for temporary migrants. Her books include 'Rethinking privilege and social mobility in middle-class migration: Migrants ‘in-between’ (Routledge 2021, co-edited with Associate Professor Shanthi Robertson) and 'Ongoing Mobility Trajectories: Lived Experiences of Global Migration' (Springer 2019) and she has published in journals such as Popular Music and Society, International Journal of Cultural Policy and Social and Cultural Geography.
