I am an experienced Clinical Midwife and Clinical Nurse (acute care) with an extensive educational background, holding a Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery, Master of Midwifery, Master in Business Administration, PhD, and Professional Certificate in University Teaching.
I have had a two-decade career with SA Health, the majority of which was spent as a Clinical Midwife in the Delivery Suite at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
My professional passions centre around cultural safety and ensuring equitable health outcomes for Aboriginal women and babies, as well as advocating for refugee health and wellbeing. Additionally, I actively contribute to the development of evidence-based obstetric guidelines and promote respectful maternity care. I am committed to advancing research and policy in women’s sexual and reproductive health and advancing research into domestic violence, abortion, disability and prevention thrpough an intersectional feminist lens.
In recognition of my commitment to advancing women's health, I serve as the Midwifery representative for RANZCOG's Women's Health Committee, sit on the Board of the Australian Women’s Health Alliance, and am a member of the South Australian Perinatal Management committee amongst other roles.
I am the current Program Director for the Bachelor of Midwifery at UniSA.
