Boram Lee, PhD in Finance, is a Senior Lecturer in Arts and Cultural Management, University of South Australia. She is specialised in the field of accounting and finance with an emphasis on behavioural studies based on psychological approaches. Boram also has a wide range of research interests in cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary studies, covering the valuation of arts and culture, creative fundraising, arts governance and accountability, artists’ labour markets, well-being and entrepreneurship.
Dr Lee is one of the recipients of the 2014 UK Arts and Humanity Research Council Cultural Value Project Research Development Grant. Prior to her academic life, she managed international tours of highly respected theatre companies, worked as a producer at arts festivals, and participated in many visual arts projects. Her professional involvement and life-long interest in theatre and the visual arts sectors led her to her current active research interests.

2023 Dr Boram Lee and Prof Ruth Rentschler secured funding of $333,000 from the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) to produce a dance film titled "Counterpoise" and a documentary titled "Dancing Against the Odds" as part of their Connect2Abilities project. This project is in collaboration with Restless Dance Theatre, 29 Dong Dance Theatre, and the Korean Music Project.

2023 Dr Boram Lee won the Korea Foundation Fellowship for Field Research Program.

2021 Dr Boram Lee and Prof Ruth Rentschler won multi-year funding of $150,000 from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s 2021-22 Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program (ACDGP) to produce a documentary Dancing Against the Odds as part of their Connect2Abilities project.

2021 Dr Boram Lee and Prof Ruth Rentschler have won the Australia-Korea Foundation Grant $30,000 on Connect2Abilities: Creating Australia-Korea People-to-People Connections in Art & Technology project with Australia Network of Art & Technology (ANAT), Illuminate Adelaide Festival, Museum of Discovery. (MOD.) and Patch Theatre.

2019 Australian-Korea Foundation (AKF) International Relations Grants of $33,000 for the project, Connect2Abilities: Creating Australia-Korea People-to-People Connections in Disability Arts with Restless Dance Theatre, No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability, and Korea Disability Arts & Culture Center. 

2018 Le Cordon Bleu – University of South Australia Research Grants Scheme of $30,000 for the project on “Tourism and the rise of the arts: Understanding how arts events and festivals create value for the South Australian economy”
