Jacinta is a credentialled Advanced Practice Pharmacist and Lecturer in Pharmacy within UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences, where she currently coordinates Pharmacy Practice courses in the 2nd and 4th years of the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours program. 
Currently, Jacinta also holds the position of Senior Pharmacist - Research within SA Pharmacy. In this role she is responsible for driving development of research capacity and culture with SA Pharmacy departments across all SA Local Health Networks.
Jacinta has recent experience practicing as the Medication Safety Pharmacist for the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, as the Clinical Educator within the Divison of Pharmacy, as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist in the High Dependency Unit at Flinders Medical Centre, and in primary healthcare working in with Drug and Alcohol Services South Australia and in community pharmacy.
In Addition, Jacinta Chairs Residency Advisory Committee, sits on the Leadership Group for the AdPha Research Specialty Practice Stream and is recognised as a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy, Advanced Pharmacy Australia and the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia.
Jacinta has a keen interest in good governance and strategic leadership. She is a Board Director for Pharmacy Development Australia and sat on the Board of Directors for Advanced Pharmacy Australia (formerly the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia) for the past six years.
Jacinta began teaching at UniSA while undertaking her PhD within the Discipline of Pharmacology, School of Medicine at the University of Adelaide. Her PhD research investigated the pathophysiology behind medication overuse headache, particularly in patients using opioid analgesics, and other neuroimmune-related consequences of chronic opioid use. Her current research is focused upon pain, opioids, addiction and harm minimisation.
