Mrs Kanaththage Yasodinee Wimalasiri
School of Civil Engineering and Construction
College of Engineering and Information Technology
I have a multidisciplinary academic and research background including Chemical and Process Engineering, Water Resources Management and Environmental Science, specialising in nanomaterials synthesis for electrochemical water desalination and energy storage. At UniSA, I perform multiple roles as a principal researcher, course coordinator, practical supervisor, tutor and a technical officer. Currently I teach four courses related to Civil Engineering and Environmental Science. My research interests include brackish and reclaimed water desalination, nanomaterials synthesis and brine waste minimization and management.
I am also passionate about Language Education in primary and secondary students and have served the Board of Ethnic and Community Language Schools of South Australia to improve the quality of language programme delivery in Ethnic Schools. After being the secretary to the management committee of the Sinhala Language School in Adelaide for four years, I continue to make a positive impact as a language teacher.
