My research sits at the exciting intersection of architecture and psychology, focusing on the design of trauma-informed habitats for extreme environments, particularly lunar bases and deep space habitats.
I am passionate about exploring how architectural design can foster resilience and well-being in isolated conditions while addressing the profound psychological effects of long-term isolation. A crucial part of my work is the design of secure facilities that not only ensure physical safety but also prioritize mental health, creating spaces that nurture both the body and the mind.
By analyzing current design practices, identifying the psychological risks of isolation, and uncovering best practices for fostering well-being, my research aims to develop architectural solutions that empower humans to thrive in extreme environments. Ultimately, my work strives to contribute to humanity’s bold journey into space, ensuring the psychological health and safety of those who will shape the future of space exploration.
