Mrs. Shimul Chakraborty is a PhD researcher in the Department of Accounting of University of Adelaide. Her PhD research is on CSR assurance under the supervision of Professor Paul Coram and Professor Indrit Troshani.
She was working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting under Faculty of Business Administration, University of Chittagong. She completed Master of Accounting (Research Pathway) with distinction in 2021 from Monash Business School, Melbourne, Australia. Her study at Monash was sponsored by the Australian Government’s Scholarship (Australia Awards). She also did MBA and BBA in Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) from the University of Chittagong. She was awarded the ‘Prime Minister Gold Medal 2010’ for securing the highest CGPA in the Faculty of Business Administration in her session.

Shimul has around 10 years of teaching experience at tertiary level institutions. She joined the Department of Accounting, University of Chittagong in 2015. She also served as a Lecturer at Premier University, Chittagong, and BGC Trust University (BGC Bidyaniketon) from 2011 to 2014.

She has interdisciplinary research interests that include, but are not limited to, auditing, accounting fraud, financial reporting quality, intellectual capital disclosure, CSR disclosure, and climate reporting. Shimul has publications in journals including ABAC journal (Scopus Listed, SCImago Q1- 2022 Ranking), Journal on Innovation and Sustainability (RISUS, ESCI Indexed), Bank Parikrama- A Journal of Banking and Finance, Prestige International Journal of Management & IT-Sanchayan, The Bangladesh Accountant (ICAB), The Chittagong University Journal of Business Administration.

She taught several units including Auditing, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation, Introduction to Business, Project Management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has experience in supervising students under internship and postgraduate research programs.

I am a PhD researcher in the Department of Accounting of University of Adelaide. My PhD research is on CSR assurance and its impact on investors' behavioral judgement. 

I also have research interest on CSR Disclosure, Auditing and Accounting Fraud, Financial Reporting Quality.
