Jun Xiao is a PhD candidate at the Adelaide Medical School, University of Adelaide, specialising in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of nasal airflow and breathing behaviours. His research integrates engineering principles with biomedical knowledge to improve the diagnosis and treatment of nasal disorders and inform surgical planning. With a background in Mechanical Engineering, his expertise spans CFD modelling, medical device design, and data analysis. His doctoral work combines advanced simulations with experimental validation using 3D-printed nasal models and flow measurement systems, providing deeper insights into nasal function. He has also contributed to interdisciplinary projects in virtual surgery, DICOM anonymisation, and biomedical engineering, demonstrating his ability to operate across fields.
