Paawan Jethva is a final-year Master of Philosophy (MPhil) student in Pure Mathematics at the University of Adelaide, working under the supervision of Dr David Baraglia. He previously completed a Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Advanced), majoring in Pure Mathematics, at the same university.
My MPhil thesis is titled "Cohomology Rings of Topological and Smooth 4-Manifolds." It primarily involves algebraic and differential topology with some lattice theory and homological algebra. We investigate the algebraic structure of cohomology rings of 4-manifolds, determine when such structures arise from manifolds, and study the restrictions in the smooth case.
