My name is Elham Hosseini-Marnani. I have completed a master’s degree in public health nutrition from Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd, Iran. In my master's degree thesis, I conducted the research entitled "hypo-caloric high-protein, low carbohydrate diet along with fennel supplementation on insulin resistance, anthropometric and androgenic indices in overweight and obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome: A randomized placebo-controlled trial " One of the fascinating aspects of my thesis was that I got valuable experience in clinical trials. Since my master’s degree, I have continued expanding my research experience in different areas including functional foods or natural bioactive compounds, cardiovascular health, reproductive health, Covid-19, and gut health. Upon graduation, I was offered a job as a clinical dietician in hospitals and clinics for patients with chronic diseases, especially chronic kidney disease. Hence, working in in-patient and outpatient settings enables me to work as an experienced dietician specializing in managing metabolic syndrome complications. My PhD study aims to investigate autonomic neuropathy in indigenous and non-indigenous Australians with diabetes and pre-diabetes. The aim of this research is to find a clinical strategy to reduce the burden of diabetes-related complications. Principal supervisor: Dr Chinmay Marathe
