Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
Annie Simpson is currently a higher degree by research candidate, completing a Masters of Philosophy as part of the IMAGENDO project, focusing more broadly on the field of women's health technology, most commonly known as 'femtech'.
Throughout her candidature, Annie will be investigating the development and deployment barriers for femtechnologies, more specifically diagnostic technologies for endometriosis. In addition, her studies will aim to understand the nuanced barriers that stifle innovation in the field of femtech, as well as ascertain the entrepreneurial barriers that female femtech founders face throughout the innovation continuum.
Annie is passionate about innovation, women's health, and the successful development and deployment of femtech. She is committed to using her knowledge within the field to continue advocating for more equitable entrepreneurial processes, and successful development and deployment of femtechnologies for greater health outcomes for women.
