
Dr Emmanuel Gnanamanickam

Emmanuel is a health services researcher with expertise in epidemiology, health economics, administrative and electronic health record data and data science. He holds a joint position as a senior research fellow and epidemiologist with the Adelaide EpiCentre (Centre for Clinical Epidemiology) at the University of Adelaide, based at the Royal Adelaide Hospital within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) and involved in various clinical and hospital epidemiology projects.
Emmanuel is an accredited social worker (MSW 2002) with post-graduate training in public health and epidemiology at University of Sheffield and University of Copenhagen (Double MPH 2010) and University of Adelaide (PhD 2016). His health and human services research spans, maternal and neonatal health, oral health, dementia and aged care, cardiology, infectious dieseas, childhood adversity and Aboriginal health.
Emmanuel has worked across all three major universities in South Australia and SA Health, and several collaborations interstate, consequently having established collaborations across the health and social research sector in South Australia and beyond. He welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with anyone (including HDR and medical students/registrars) looking for expertise/supervision in health economics and epidemiology specifically using electronic health record and administrative data within SA Health.
