Dr Runhao Li is a molecular oncology researcher with a strong background in gene and cell therapy, tumour immunology, and translational cancer research. His doctoral work at the Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Health Research focused on developing recombinant adeno-associated viral (rAAV) vectors and investigating how molecular and immune factors regulate tumour progression and therapeutic response.

Research interests:

  • Gene and cell therapy for cancer and liver disease
  • Tumour immune microenvironment and immune modulation
  • Non-viral gene delivery and synthetic biology
  • Biomarker discovery and translational medicine
  • Integration of molecular, transcriptomic, and proteomic data

Technical expertise:

  • Molecular cloning, vector engineering (rAAV, lentivirus)
  • Flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, Western blot
  • RNA-seq and transcriptomic data analysis using R
  • Mammalian cell culture and functional immunoassays
  • In vivo and ex vivo models of cancer immunotherapy
