As an Investigator Grant recipient, I am an NHMRC EL1 fellow (2024-2028), and my research focuses on the development of advanced biomaterials for biomedical applications.

My current research primarily involves the development of hydrogel-based bioelectronics for reparing cardiac infarction, utilising soft matters (hydrogels), flexible electronics, and extrusion-based additive manufacturing (3D printing). I have developed materials and methods for embedded 3D printing to fabricate conductive hydrogels and hydrogel-based functional soft electronic devices for biomedical purposes such as signal sensing, electrical stimulating and tissue engineering.

I also have extensive experience in engineering nano- and micro-sized biomaterials for tumour-targeted drug delivery. I have developed nano-systems with adjustable mechanical properties (Young’s moduli) and have investigated how nanoparticle’s mechanical properties affect the interactions at the bio-nano interface. Currently, I am supervising PhD students working on the development of nano- and microparticle-based artificial antigen presenting cells (aAPCs) with varying stiffness for T cell activation for cancer immunotherapy.

Additionally, I possess experiece in microfluidics, organs-on-chips, and light-based 3D printing techniques.
