Dr Josie Hardwick is a Specialist Equine Surgeon and Senior Lecturer at Murdoch University, with over 17 years of experience in the equine industry. Her clinical and academic expertise spans advanced surgical techniques and equine upper respiratory tract diagnostics.Dr Hardwick is currently undertaking a PhD under the supervision of Professor Sam Franklin (University of Adelaide), focusing on the diagnostic evaluation of the equine upper respiratory tract. Her research centres on the Australasian Thoroughbred yearling sales endoscopy process with significant impact on national grading systems for laryngeal function and sales practices across Australia and New Zealand.Her broader research interests include: objective assessment of laryngeal function; early diagnosis of recurrent laryngeal neuropathy (RLN) using high-speed imaging; and integration of machine learning in equine diagnostic methodologies.
