Ishka is a food scientist and Joint PhD candidate at The University of Adelaide and University of Nottingham.

She has a deep interest in factors influencing healthy and environmentally sustainable food choice behaviour. This led to her doctoral research, which explores the potential of insects as a food source in Australia and the United Kingdom. A large portion of this work focuses on better describing the sensory properties of commercially-available edible insects.

Prior to research, Ishka worked in community services and education. Drawing on this experience, she has been highly engaged in science communication and outreach alongside her research, with a penchant for storytelling and hands-on workshops. She is particularly interested in the impact of science communication on public health and the planet.
