I am a PhD student in the School of Psychology currently undertaking research within the area of health psychology that aims to understand the outcomes of people living with a cardiac implantable electronic device (including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices). My honours thesis evaluated how people living with these devices engaged with online peer support communities on a popular social media website. Alongside this I am interested in qualitative research methodologies, specifically qualitative content analysis and discourse analysis, and more broadly how people engage with healthcare systems.
