I am a postdoctoral researcher with a particular interest in fish ecology and climate change. My research is performed at natural analogues of climate change, including ocean warming hotspots and ocean acidification seeps, across ecosystems in both Australia and Japan. I am particularly interested in understanding the drivers behind range shifts of tropical and temperate fishes, through the lens of functional ecology, such as behaviour, physiology, niche occupation, microbiome, and environmental DNA (eDNA). Recently, my work has expanded to explore the ecological responses of freshwater, estuarine, and marine ecosystems to climatic extremes, including floods and droughts, within one of Australia's most ecologically important wetland systems, the Coorong, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth. Through combining field surveys, molecular tools, and literature synthesis, I aim to understand how diverse ecosystems adapt to and are impacted by rapid environmental changes, advancing our understanding of ecosystem resilience and adaptation under future climate change.
