I am currently a PhD candidate in the School of Biomedicine, working within the Bone and Joint Osteoimmunology Laboratory and the Cancer Treatment Toxicities Group, supervised by Associate Professor Tania Crotti, Professor Joanne Bowen and Dr Bonnie Williams. My research interest encompasses both cancer and musculoskeletal health research areas, with my current research focusing on understanding the effects of HER-targeted breast cancer treatments on bone health and exploring the bone protective effects of gut-modulating therapies in this setting.
My research focuses on investigating the bone effects of small molecule EGFR-targeting breast cancer treatment, approved for use in the setting of HER2+ breast cancer. Another focus of my research is understanding the emerging gut-bone axis and how the gut microbiome influences the skeletal outcomes in patients with breast cancer.
