Trang Nguyen is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Global Food and Resources, School of Economics and Public Policy, The University of Adelaide.Trang holds a PhD in applied economics from the University of Adelaide’s Centre for Global Food and Resources specialising in behavioural economics, where she focused on household behaviour related to food waste. Trang have dedicated the last four years to exploring and engaging with the public in a sustainable lifestyle through preventing and minimising waste. Trang's PhD and previous research experiences are strongly linked to social issues and the economics of households, farmers’ livelihoods, and landholders.Prior to Trang's PhD study, she completed a Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics from National Taiwan University (Taiwan). Her academic background in economics, combined with a profound interest in sustainable production and consumption, led her to join a two-year project focused on reducing food loss and waste in Taiwan. During this period, Trang developed a deep interest in understanding the behaviours of households toward food waste. Her PhD, therefore, explored a range of behaviours related to food waste at the household level.Trang's research has been featured in several broad media platforms, such as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) War on Waste Series. She has also been proactive in communicating her research, which can be found in the following videos:ABC War on Waste: https://iview.abc.net.au/video/DO2224H002S00 Winner of the 2021 University of Adelaide Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition: https://bit.ly/winner-of-three-minute-thesis-competition-2021People's Choice Award in the Visualise Your Thesis (VYT) competition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwtkfY02VC8Trang was also a PhD student with the Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre (FFW CRC) and part of the FFW CRC project: https://fightfoodwastecrc.com.au/project/www-what-where-and-why-of-household-food-waste-behaviour/.
