Mrs Grace Horwood

Lecturer

School of Psychology

Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences

My research interests are in the area of social psychology and critical psychology broadly, and social factors impacting on mental health.

In my Honours research I examined the different ways in which depression was discursively constructed on Australian depression websites. In my PhD research I applied the methodology of critical discursive psychology to explore how the concept of "mental health" was constructed and understood during the COVID-19 pandemic in two different contexts, the print and online news media, and an online mental health discussion forum.

My most recent research focuses on school-related stress and experiences of 'school can't' among children and young people.
