I am an Oral Pathologist from India, with a passionate interest and inclination in Oral Cancer research. I have dedicated my postgraduate research to the same area and am continuing to pursue this in my PhD as well. I am currently working as a part of the Indigenous Oral Health Unit in Adelaide, and dealing with the disease burden of Human Papillomavirus in the Indigenous Population of Australia. I have also developed a keen propensity in alleviating the oral health problems in Indigenous populations.
My research interests involve the cellular processes involved in carcinogenesis, tumor microenvironment and factors impacting the prognosis of oral and oropharyngeal cancer. A special interest in the viral etiology of oral carcinogenesis specifically Human Papillomavirus and oropharyngeal carcinoma. Passionate about inequities in head and neck cancer, factors attributed with this gap in incidence, diagnosis, treatment, recurrence and overall survival.
